Karamağara Bay is a bay in the Yayladağı district of Hatay that preserves the untouched beauty of nature. You can reach this bay by winding roads and it is also quite interesting as it was used as a pirate shelter in the past.
Transportation to Karamağara Bay is usually provided by private vehicle, but you can also reach here thanks to the tours organized in the region.
Karamağara Bay offers an unforgettable holiday experience with its historical and natural beauties. If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet holiday, Karamağara Bay is just for you!

The atmosphere is beautiful and natural. There is waste left by people because everyone leaves their trash and the toilets are everywhere.
It's a wonderful place, untouched, where anyone who touches it leaves their trash behind. Why don't you just take your trash and leave? We see what a destructive and evil force humans can be here.
I went to the bay on the weekend and it was very crowded. Probably the holiday is also an effect. When you come, be careful not to come on a weekday. You should be careful as the roads are a bit winding and narrow. I think the sheep water is clean and the salt content is low compared to the Mediterranean. The view is already magnificent, ideal for camping The downsides are that there is a lot of garbage, not enough facilities, no toilets. It's hard to find a shaded spot in the midday heat, so I recommend bringing a beach umbrella etc. (Please take your garbage with you when you go)
We went to Karamağra Bay (known as Merve Beach on the map) and found it truly magnificent. The water is crystal clear, the natural beauty is still largely intact, and it's peaceful. Swimming, swimming, and admiring the scenery was a truly enjoyable experience. Being in such a beautiful, natural bay is truly soothing. Unfortunately, however, the beach's garbage problem casts a shadow over this experience. Even walking becomes difficult in places; plastic bottles, food wrappers, and cigarette butts are everywhere. Such a beautiful natural landscape is practically suffocated by the garbage. Indeed, the principle of "You eat and drink; take it back as you brought it" should apply to everyone here. If this irresponsibility continues, both the vitality and the natural beauty of this bay will rapidly disappear. Places like Karamağra can only survive if we respect both nature and each other. It's a shame, because this beauty absolutely does not deserve to be covered in such filth.
First of all, the last 20 km of the road consists of interlocking paved roads and switchbacks. Make sure your vehicle is serviced before you go. The road is better if you take the direction of Samandağ, which is the Arsuz Mountain. You pass through villages. You leave the car on a high hill and descend a 100-200 meter path. The ascent and descent may be a bit difficult for older people. The elevator was being built when I visited, but I don't know when it will be finished. Don't expect a very long beach; there's only a 40-50 meter-long pebble beach. There are no showers or toilets. People also misused it, leaving a lot of trash and dirt. You can only find markets nearby in the villages. It's more practical to buy your needs from a central location. The sea deepens quickly at 4-5 meters, so be sure to take equipment like a snorkel to explore the seabed. If you're going just for swimming, it might not be very satisfying. There's no shade, so be sure to bring an umbrella. On the other side there was a place that looked like a cafeteria, although I'm not sure what it was, there was also a swimming area next to it.
