Menderes, home to tourist resorts such as Gümüldür and Özdere, offers a wide range of beaches, both established and pristine. The seawater here is generally renowned for its cleanliness and clarity. Özdere Beaches: Lively and Family-Friendly

Özdere is the most popular and central beach area in Menderes. With its long coastline, public beaches, private businesses, and hotel areas are located side by side. For those wishing to explore the natural beauty of the Menderes, the area surrounding Kalemlik National Park offers wonderful options. Pine trees extend down to the sea, and camping is available. The seawater can sometimes be cooler here, and the coastline is rocky in places. Aquarium Bay, said to have the clearest waters in the region, lives up to its name. Those who want to snorkel and observe the life below should definitely visit this bay. Since there are no facilities, you should bring your own supplies (water, food).

  • Weekends, especially in Gümüldür and Özdere, can be quite crowded. For a quieter experience, choose weekdays.
  • To avoid parking problems, try to reach the beaches early in the morning (before 09:00).
  • The waters of the Menderes have a cooling effect even in the hot summer months, which is different from the southern regions of the Aegean.
