Cannot access building new? hotels and new? large villas block entire strip with walls can’t see water. ….with non paved road if you take taxi. Disappointed. Just walls and walls of construction blocking any view of beach. Did not take pics of the walls :( Saw O. Went up street Super windy public beach …cannot picnic on beach up the road. Wind and water looks dangerous. Long drive for same thing in Doha without wind or villas blocking walled off access. Not sure google has this updated but a no go. Wasted 2 hrs driving back and forth to Doha :(.

The beach is very beautiful, you can get there by car. It's a bit dirty in places, but you can swim without restrictions.

Beautiful turquoise water and white sand, but access is very limited. Most of Furwait Beach is private and closed, with only a small public section. The locals were friendly, but we were told we couldn't walk along the beach because of security cameras. We continued to Ullal Beach, which is public and has a few caravans, but there were no shops, toilets, or cafes - bring your own supplies. The area is very remote and littered, which was disappointing. We went in June and there were lots of jellyfish, so swimming wasn't ideal. The roads were bumpy - not suitable for a sedan. Ours got stuck in the sand, so a 4x4 is a must. It's scenic, but not worth the stress - I wouldn't go back.

JUNE 2025 As a British couple visiting Qatar, we wanted to explore some of the quieter northern beaches, but found very limited information online before we set off. We went to Furwait Beach in June hoping for a peaceful beach day, and while the turquoise sea and white sand were undeniably beautiful, the overall experience was quite unexpected. On arrival, most of the beach had been boarded up and appeared to be private property, presumably owned by locals. A very friendly Qatari man kindly explained that there were security cameras and that we weren't allowed to walk any further on the beach. Only a small section was public, and unfortunately, everything was boarded up and there was quite a bit of litter, which really affected the atmosphere. We continued on to Ullal Beach, which was more obviously public. There were a few caravans and people staying overnight, creating a more local, relaxed atmosphere. However, there were no cafes, shops or toilet facilities, so it's important to bring your own food and water. We also drove further afield to visit the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, but it was completely deserted; There were no staff, no signs, and nothing to do. The surrounding rocky coastline was quiet and scenic, making for a good photo stop. One major issue was the road quality. Although we drove a sedan, it was actually only suitable for 4x4s, and at one point we got stuck in the sand, which was stressful and time-consuming to deal with. The whole area is very remote, poorly signposted, and again, there was a significant amount of litter strewn along the road. Another thing to be aware of was the jellyfish; during our visit in June, there were numerous in the water, making swimming uninviting. The water was magnificent, and we enjoyed the sense of adventure, but the combination of limited access, poor roads, lack of facilities, and litter means we probably won't return. However, we ended our trip with lunch in Al Khor, a lovely family beach with restaurants; it was a much easier and more enjoyable break.
