Clean, well-maintained and quiet, especially the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has shown the necessary care for the beach.
We were passing through here on our way to Kefkene, but decided against it and opted for this one. Four of us went on two motorbikes, and there's no parking fee. You can rent umbrellas and sun loungers. The beach is beautiful, and it's clear the municipality regularly cleans it. The sea is also beautiful and clean, but the water gets a little muddy when the lifeguards go around on jet skis. There's a bit of seaweed here and there, but not enough to bother us. The waves are fine. The shower area is inadequate. The drain in the shower area isn't as it should be. There are long lines of sand everywhere, and no one listens. They just jump in. The changing rooms are next to the showers, so the floor is wet, and they constantly bang on the door for less than a minute. There are holes in the doors; if you want to look, you can see inside. The restrooms are inadequate, and there's always sand on the floor. Only one elderly woman cleans the restrooms because she can't get into the men's room. She cleans as much as she can from the door. Finally, because our people are filthy, they don't leave any area clean. People crack sunflower seeds on the beach and throw their shells on the ground, wet and dry wipes are left on the floor in the changing rooms, the toilets don't flush and leave them filthy. Etc. Etc. Note: If anyone is coming from Istanbul, they should take the highway. If you choose the roads to Şile, woe betide you. We made that mistake. We weren't in the mood to swim when we went. Use the highway. Is it worth the 40 km extra drive? It definitely is. We drove for 3.5 hours, max 2 hours.
A top-notch family beach, it also boasts Blue Flag showers and changing rooms. There are both paid and free parking, as well as markets and cafes. Highly recommended.
The cleanest beach I've been to in the Black Sea region and well maintained by the municipality... clean... changing cabins and showers are sufficient... it's nice to have separate areas for caravans and tents... WCs are dirty due to people using them... since they are free, I think... WCs can be made chargeable and their cleanliness can be ensured.
We went for a camping experience. It's a beautiful place right at the bottom of the beach. It's a family atmosphere, so you can come very easily. The downsides are that the restrooms are terrible, and there's no one cleaning them. People use them like filth and they smell. The mosque is right next to the restroom, so it's a great location. The mosque is also filthy and used; there's sand everywhere. Half-naked people coming out of the sea sit inside the mosque just to charge their batteries. Unfortunately, this needs to be addressed. People pray in front of people in swimsuits. There aren't any designated areas for tents; everyone sets up tents in any available space, which isn't good. There should be designated areas for tents; there should be a strip of tape. There's a dishwasher, and people waste water like crazy. Some even wash their children there. We're a joke. Parking is 100 TL per tent and 200 TL per tent. There are showers, toilets, and a prayer room. Barbecues are allowed.
