Issos Ruins
The ruins of Issus are the site of the Battle of Issus, fought between Alexander the Great and Darius III of Persia in 333 BC. Located in modern-day Turkey, the ruins contain remains that demonstrate the intensity and significance of the battle, but they are largely unexcavated and unpreserved.
