Budva Beach Guide
The Most Beautiful Spots of Budva Riviera, the Pearl of the Adriatic
Budva, the heart of the Montenegrin coastline, is known not only for its vibrant nightlife and historic Old Town, but also for its uniquely beautiful beaches. Whether sandy, pebbly, party-oriented, or isolated, the Budva Riviera caters to every type of sea lover. Here are some of the most beautiful beaches you should definitely visit in Budva:
Mogren Beach
Mogren, a short, scenic walk from Budva's Old Town and accessible via a tunnel carved into the cliffs, actually consists of two small beaches (Mogren I and Mogren II). It's considered Budva's most photogenic beach. Its crystal-clear waters are protected from the wind by the surrounding steep cliffs. The beach's surface is generally a mix of fine pebbles and sand. Umbrellas and lounge chairs are available for rent.
Slovenska Plaža
It's the longest and most accessible beach in central Budva. It covers almost the entire city center and is surrounded by large hotel complexes. It can get quite crowded during the busy summer months. The beach is predominantly pebbled. Its central location offers a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, water sports centers, and entertainment options. It's ideal for those looking for a convenient location in a central location.
Becici Beach
Located southeast of Budva and accessible via a tunnel or coastal road, Becici was awarded the title of Europe's most beautiful beach in 1935. It's a wide, long, and well-maintained beach. Its fine pebble structure and expansive area keep it from feeling crowded. It's perfect for families and home to luxury resorts. It's a great alternative for those seeking water sports and a more tranquil seaside experience.
Jazz Beach
Located approximately 2.5 km west of Budva's center, Jaz is one of the region's largest beaches. Its wide stretch is popular and hosts major events such as the famous Sea Dance Festival. While part of the beach is fully organized, it also offers free-standing areas and even camping opportunities. Transportation is provided by taxi or local buses.
Kamenovo Beach
Tucked away between Becici and Sveti Stefan, this beach immediately catches your eye with its turquoise waters. It has a relatively small, boutique atmosphere. The chic beach bars that have opened in recent years offer both entertainment and relaxation. The beach can also be reached by a short walk from Becici, via the tunnel.
Important Tip for Budva Beaches
Most beaches in Budva operate on a rental system of sunbeds and umbrellas. If you prefer to sunbathe with your own towel, be aware that by law, a certain percentage of beaches (usually 20%) are designated as free zones. During the summer months, arriving at popular beaches before 10:00 AM will ensure you get the best spots.
